Reviews
Always see a long q so decided to try..always check your receipt to make sure the casier get your order right, we had two wrong orders. Food wise nothing really special won't be heading back. But it's a good option if you want some lazy comfort food. Had the curry seafood and it neither bad nor good
Very busy, often you gotta queue but not too long, around 5-10 min wait. BEST bolognese and French toast in MELBORUNE, no joke. Very underrated, really appreciate the effort they put into making the food unlike other Hong Kong cafes. Big portions and consistent quality. Prices are average but portions are definitely bigger than others. I hope they never change the chef and the chef never changes the recipe. I will come back over and over again!
Cheap and authentic traditional Hong Kong food.
I ordered the Macaroni in tomato stew which was really delicious.
The only downside is that the food gets abit heavy towards the last few bites but I guess that's what it is.
I recall getting the cheese baked rice from here back in 2020 where covid was still ongoing. The food still tasted great even though it was luke warm (due to take away)
Overall, the food here is value for money and I will definitely visit here again if I ever have the chance
It's good to know that The Lucky Guys Cafe in Glen Waverley is still a decent option for a Hong Kong-style meal, even though you found a slight decrease in food quality. The ample portion of rice is always a plus when you're looking to satisfy your hunger.
Food choices, just what a standard Hong Kong Cafe needs to please you. Taste and flavour is above average but some times inconsistent.
Service is below average for me. One of the casher/order taker is not so friendly and a little rude. Food serve is pretty quick but make sure you are prepared to wait for a table.
Would I return again? Yes of course, the chicken wings, French toast and their signature Hong Kong milk tea..yes yes. Ps: egg tarts are quickly sold so be there early.
We all left with satisfied tummies. Flavours are authentic and the cleanliness of this place was pretty good. My favourite was pork trotter, it was sensational. We arrived around 4pm on Good Friday so they wasn’t a huge queue, but we still had to wait for about 15min or so as we were a group of 6.
Really cool vibe (it feels like you're in HK), but food isn't worth it unless you have a nostalgic attachment to HK style dishes.
It was about $14 for my husband's order, which was instant noodles with egg and sausage (spam?) and honey-lemon water. This felt too expensive for a dish that could be quickly and cheaply replicated at home. My order of HK milk tea and a sandwich also felt too expensive for what I got. The sandwich was two slices of white bread with crusts cut off, with some sliced tomato and minced salted beef. Again, something that could be replicated at home to the cost of maybe $1.
It was a fun experience overall, but the food wouldn't have me coming back.
I live near by and always see big lines to go in. So I was expecting it to be good. However, I was disappointed. While the portion size was good, and flavour was average.
